Das Kino, aus dem Zoe Lund, Hauptdarstellerin des Rape-Revenge-Films Ms. 45 und Drehbuchautorin von Bad Lieutenant, in den Hardcore-Streifen des Realen hinaustritt, ist das Luxor in Rotterdam. Es ist das größte und älteste Filmtheater der Stadt. Das letzte Mal war ich dort im Rahmen des Filmfestivals 2008, als die Melvins Filme von Cameron Jamie begleiteten. Zur Einstimmung erhielt man am Eingang ein Tütchen mit rosa Plastik-Ohrstöpseln, die bei mir nicht hielten. Am Sonntag, bei der Vorführung um 15.30 Uhr von Abel Ferraras Driller Killer im B-Movie, wird es am Eingang keine Stöpsel geben. Den Lärm von Tony Coca-Cola and the Roosters wird man ungefiltert ertragen müssen. Ich werde den Vorführer anweisen, die Anlage aufzudrehen. „THIS FILM SHOULD BE PLAYED LOUD.“

It’s a very historical place here, and you have to support cinema, man. ’Cause film is twenty-four frames a second, and when you sit in a room, between every fucking frame is a little bit of black. So, at the end of the fucking hour-and-a-half movie, everybody here sat in the dark for maybe thirty minutes. When you watch tapes, it’s a constant obliteration of your mind. In these thirty minutes of darkness, there is a symbiosis between the audience and the film. That’s when you make your own film. And you also watch a film with everybody all around you, everybody here at the same time and that's not like watching video, man, even if videos saved our lives.
